MAGPUL PTS MASADA ACR CONSUMER UPDATEThe Magpul PTS ACR manual refers to a Magpul Dummy Round to use as a tool in its diagrams. This part is included with the gun and comes in the same packaging as the manual.
Handguard RemovalWhen removing handguards, please make sure to use the included Magpul Dummy Round to push the pin out. If you use a punch and hammer, it may damage the plastic around the retaining pin hole.
In the image below, taken from the Magpul ACR Masada manual, you can see the dummy round clearly indicated. We have highlighted it red below.
Do not remove the pin completely from the handguard, as that may damage the retaining pin and spring clip.
The image below shows that the retaining pin and clip are pulled out enough to release the handguard while not needing to be completely removed. You can see how
the spring clip holds the retaining pin in place. If the retaining pin is pulled all the way out, the clip will be damaged and come off.
Using a punch and hammer, or losing the retaining pin or clips is not covered under the Magpul PTS Warranty.
Ambidextrous Charging Handle Removal and InstallationWhen changing the charging handle on your Magpul PTS ACR Masada, please make sure to use the included Magpul Dummy Round. When the charging handle is in the foward position, above the charging handle (in the picatinny rail) is a small button. You may depress this button with the Dummy Round, allowing the charging handle to be removed from the gun and swapped to the opposite side of the gun.
In the image below, taken from the Magpul ACR Masada manual, you can see the dummy round clearly indicated. We have highlighted it red below.
Breaking the charging handle due to improper installation is not covered under the Magpul PTS Warranty.
